The CAC is our Church Advisory Council (Board of Directors). These leaders are elected by the active voting members of Dominion Church to serve our pastor in the leadership and vision of Dominion Church.
Rev. Greg Thurstonson - Greg & Deena Thurstonson pioneered Dominion Church in the Spring of 1996 with a core group of 30 people. Today the church runs over 350 in attendance each week and is continuing to grow. After years of meeting in hotels and shopping centers in and around the Clear Lake area, the church purchased its first property in August of 2005 located in League City, TX.
Pastors Greg & Deena have over twenty years of ministerial experience. Greg graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Christian Education. In addition to being a full-time pastor, Greg is a board-certified Faith-Based Counselor. He travels extensively as a speaker at various conferences, camps, revivals and retreats. Deena is a gifted worship leader and has been sought-out to lead worship at camps and conventions. They have been married over twenty years and have two beautiful daughters, Taylor and Morgan.
Dick Hoover - Dick and his wife of 40 years have been active at Dominion Church since August, 2002. He has a deep love for his family: wife Rhonda, son Todd, daughter-in-law Sandra and grandson Garrett. He also has a deep love for the youth of the church where he and his wife Rhonda are affectionately known as Papa and Momma Snacks. Dick has been serving as Men's Ministries Director for the past 4 years, and also serves as Landscaping and Building Maintenance Director. He accepted a position on the Church Advisory Council in February, 2007 and looks forward to serving and seeing this great church grow!
Rob Nolen - Rob, his wife Cheryl and their two children Whitney (15) and Spencer (12) are charter members of Dominion Church. This is Rob's 2nd term on the Church advisory council. He currently serves on the media team as the Sound Technician and Cheryl is on the Praise and Worship Team. He and his wife also are very involved in leading the Fine Arts Program at the church. They both have a passion to see Dominion Church grow and lead in the community.
Jason Morgan - Jason and his wife Lori have been married for 11 years and have three children (Ryan - 8, Ethan - 6, and Alexa -3). Jason was elected to the Advisory Council in February of 2007 and continues to serve on the Men's council and assists in the children's departments. Lori is the director of early childhood and also teaches in the 4-6 year old children's church. The Morgan's have been attending Dominion since July 2003.
Melvin Sword - Melvin and Angela Sword have been attending Dominion Church since January, 2002. They have served other churches in the area as Minister of Music, board member and teacher. They have three children Tamara, Andrea Murphy (son-in-law Jeremy), Allan and one grandson, Tyler Murphy. Melvin was elected to the CAC in February, 2005. He has served as Media Director, currently assists the media team and serves as a consultant on media issues with other churches.
Angela is the teacher for the praise team children on Sunday mornings and serves on the Risk Management team.
Pam Reynolds - Pam is a charter member of Dominion Church and her husband, Jay, has been at Dominion for the past 10 years.
Pam was recently appointed to her third term as a CAC member and is excited to serve in this capacity once again.
Pam currently serves Dominion as a facilitator for the dna classes, a teacher in the 3 & 4 year old Children's Church, and is a part of the Leadership Care Team. Her husband Jay serves on the Men's Council, the Risk Management Team, an Usher, a Teller, and a Group Leader for the Church in the Park Outreaches.
Pam and Jay have been married for 6 wonderful years and are in the process of adopting the 2 cutest kids ever-Chasity and Timothy.
Darrell Whittenberg - Darrell and his wife Sandra have been married 16 years and have 2 children (Shelby 14 and Zachary 10). Darrell was appointed to the CAC in September 2007, and he and Sandra continue to serve in various ministries within Dominion Church including: Children's church, Outreach Ministry Coordinators, Hospitality and Nursery. Darrell also serves on the Men's Ministry Council and Sandra serves on the Women's Ministry Council. The Whittenberg family has attended Dominion Church for 2 years.
